CHOOSING to study at APU means you’ll graduate with more than a degree, you will be ready to progress in the profession of your choice and take on the challenges posed.
The APU Foundation (pre-university) programme is designed to help those with SPM, O-Levels or similar qualifications develop the skills and knowledge to progress into the first year of their degree of choice.
The APU Foundation Programme
The APU Foundation Programme offers a common first semester, providing flexibility to explore your interests.
Upon choosing your dream route in Business and Finance, Computing and Technology, Engineering, Design, Journalism and Creative Media or International Studies, the following semesters will introduce you to fundamental modules that prepare you to join the APU degree programmes.
Many Bachelors Honours Degrees are offered through Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) and Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).
Students in the APU Foundation Programme learn within a globalised environment together with peers from more than 100 countries.
Students are immersed in multi-cultural interaction and discourse and this way, international understanding and respect are promoted within the context of formal learning.
The teaching style in the APU Foundation Programme is designed to nurture students personally and professionally to achieve the standards expected in the degree programme.
Lessons incorporate activities that build confidence, enhance personal skills and team building, and nurture reflective thinking.
The APU School of Foundation Studies provides a cohesive support system that consists of academic administrators, a personal counsellor and student ambassadors, among others.
Upon completion of the APU Foundation Programme, students may pursue one of several degree programmes at APU or apply to transfer to partner universities overseas.
APU Dual Degree Programmes APU also offers a dual degree programme through a unique collaborative partnership with Staffordshire University, in which the UK university accredits undergraduate programmes that are designed and delivered by APU.
Upon completion, students will be awarded two undergraduate Degree Certificates and Transcripts – one from APU and one from Staffordshire University.
The programme provides students with enhanced opportunities for further study and career development, especially since both degrees are earned from reputable and quality Institutions
from two different countries.
Professional yet fun environment APU’s unique practice with “professional dress code” develops professional behaviour early; APU Foundation students dress in formal wear for classes and in doing so, develop professional behaviour early.
Apart from academic pursuits, APU Foundation students are encouraged to participate in clubs, societies and special interest groups (SIGs) on campus with activities ranging from sports competitions to building robots or energy efficient vehicles.
These activities allow APU Foundation students to interact with peers and staff members outside the formal classroom setting and develop interpersonal and leadership skills.
Those interested to have work experience may apply for a part-time job on campus after completing one full semester of study.
Work opportunities for students give students invaluable experience outside the classrooms, apart from earning some extra pocket money for their personal use.
Students seeking a flexible programme, personal and professional development within an international, professional, yet fun-loving environment are encouraged to enrol in the APU Pre-university Foundation studies programme.
