Pathway to various opportunities

PRESIDENT College is an award-winning institution recognised for its capacity to provide students the best experiences and opportunities.

In the current MyQuest ratings of private institutions by the Education Ministry, it was awarded both a five-star rating for the overall category and the highest six-star rating for international readiness.

It has also been awarded as a Premier College from the prestigious Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities based in the United Kingdom.

Students who have just received their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results are usually advised by the Colleges Progression Department on their options and pathways. The range of advice includes all programmes and institutions in Malaysia as well as institutions in over 25 countries around the world.

“Our function is to act as a hub of concise, factual information, to find the best fit for students. We refer many students to other institutions. Our mandate is only to assign students to counsellors when we know that President is the best fit.

“Those who took our advice left with a smile, and more often than not, recommended a friend who suited us perfectly. This frankness is lacking and is exactly what parents and students are looking for, with pathways becoming increasingly confusing and misleading. People think we are crazy but frank recommendations beat marketing,” says a Progression Department team leader, Izni Illiyyin Abd Aziz.

Students experience a clearly mapped out pathway with the best pre-university or diploma or degree option, cost, social analysis, university worth and campus location set out from day one.

The teams are on hand to assist with consultation, from campus tours in Malaysia and around the world to financial support and assistance sources.

Many customised tools such as CPASTEGO and psychometrics are used to gauge and assist in the decision-making process. Teams act as mentors and no payment or fee is charged.

President College also allows students, especially SPM-holders, the widest flexibility in changing or modifying a pathway.

Many programmes have closed pathways, where students are forced to pay large sums or lose valuable time in the event they change their minds.

President bucks this trend with its one-of-a-kind open pathway policy. Here students suffer no penalties, due to innovative schemes such as the “one fee for all” policy and a “flexible transfer credit scheme”. This allows students the opportunity to change and modify their options based on better information and experience in a programme or industry.

Students get a true taste of their careers with the college’s unique Industry Teaching and Learning Experience (INTELEX) programme. Here students from Foundation, Diploma or Degree programmes are exposed to the real-life scenarios mentored by top industry professionals.

“Today’s students are stronger willed than ever before. They must have a happy environment to succeed and cannot be forced – their hearts and minds must align to their career,” says Thinagaran Thivaharan, who coordinates the INTELEX initiative.

Students engage with leaders from a host of industries to gain value from class learning and personal growth. The college prides itself in a never-ending array of events, talks, conferences, games, contest, activities and community engagements to allow students to develop not only in knowledge but also in skills and personality – the hallmark of the college’s 360 holistic education platform.

These amazing experiences are run by a large body of staff and students, using specifically allotted funds and the latest in social technology to ensure every student develops through experiences that last a lifetime.

This is done while giving students the opportunity to progress at their own pace and will, in tandem with their own unique goals and dreams.

Experience personal education at its best with President and don’t miss the opportunity to join the April intake now.
