KBU International College, together with Human Capital Connection Sdn Bhd, recently organised the KBU Career Showcase 2015 from March 16 to 19.

Marking the start of the career week, students were given a chance to explore employment opportunities from more than 35 companies, ranging from MNCs to SMEs. Some of the top companies which took part in the KBU Career Showcase 2015 were Maybank, Continental and One World Hotel.

Students were also exposed to educational programmes such as Career Talk on Interview Skills, Personal Branding and Grooming, Resume Clinic, Career Coaching and student visitation to major corporations during the four-day event.

“At KBU, we always ensure that students are equipped with both qualification and soft skills in order to shine. As such, our graduates are hired immediately upon graduation and, in many instances, even before graduation,” said KBU International College principal Dr Chee Choong Kooi.

“The collaboration between HCC and KBU to organise the career week represented a major milestone for both organisations in the quest to work together and build effective partnerships to make a difference in addressing Malaysia’s talent and at the same time, enhancing the employability of students,” said Human Capital Connection Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Michael Tan.

One of the students who attended the career showcase, Jimmy Lim Ying Yi, sang praises of the opportunities created by both HCC and KBU to ensure the employability of the students.

“It was a great experience to visit the booths and explore over 1,000 jobs available. Other than that, I have also benefited from the career talks on interview skills and personal branding,” said the business student.
