KPJ Senior Living Care is one of the initiatives undertaken by KPJ to cater to elderly patients who need assistive care. This is in line with KPJ’s objective as a preferred health care provider and its aim to encourage senior citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Drawing from Jeta Gardens Residential and Retirement Village in Brisbane, KPJ Senior Living Care provides a home-like environment, which will provide quality care to all residents regardless of ethnicity, social status, religion, belief or political affiliation.
In general, KPJ Senior Living Care welcomes residents aged 60 and above to experience comprehensive aged care treatment. Those under the age of 60 may be also accepted on case-to-case basis. KPJ Senior Living Care admits three types of residents – those who are staying long term, those who plan on staying for a short while and day-care residents, who are cared for during the day but do not stay overnight.
KPJ Senior Living Care aims to be the centre where our precious elderly could feel a home atmosphere, cared for by trained personnel with healthy socialisation and interaction.
A doctor is scheduled to visit the residents weekly, while other professional health care providers such as dietician, speech therapist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist will work together to improve or maintain health and well-being if the needs arise.
Residents will also be provided with activities to ensure living in Senior Living Care would be filled with enjoyment. The friendly staff will assist with activities, such as karaoke, gardening, board games, birthday celebration and family gathering.
The facilities of KPJ Senior Living Care will adopt as much as possible a home-like environment such as providing home comforts like a bed and furniture.
Involvement of family members in ensuring residents’ comfort and well-being is encouraged.
It is located at KPJ Tawakkal Health Centre Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, beside the KPJ Tawakkal Specialist Hospital – ensuring other medical services can be obtained within short notice and any medical emergencies are handled promptly.
KPJ Tawakkal Health Centre also offers other services that could facilitate the requirements of residents such as dental specialist clinic, haemodialysis service, comprehensive rehabilitation service, specialist clinics and eye and lasik centre.
