Opposing elements
The eclipse Spring/Summer 2015 collection is all about contrasts.
ECLIPSE launched its new integrated campaign this month with former beauty queen, model and activist Thanuja Ananthan as the face of the campaign.
Following in the footsteps of previous faces, Deborah Henry and Elaine Daly, Thanuja is also the muse of the collection.
In a press release, designer Sonny San says, “The diverse and new collection in predominantly monochromatic hues entitled High Contrast was inspired by Thanuja’s optimism and fearless spirit.
“Her sense of vitality and athletic physique is also reflected in the designs.”
Running across print and online channels, the Spring/ Summer 2015 collection sees a predominately black and white collection. Despite that, there are a number of shiny satin pieces in turquoise and fuchsia.
The attitude is very much fearless from the designs to accessories, and has a 1970s vibe. Graphics, block colours and prints abound, and clean lines and details are found in the collection.
Contrast comes from opposing elements such as black and white, dark and light, and rough and smooth textures.
There are plenty of dresses in this collection, both long and short. While some are beautiful and flowy dresses in print and solids, there are also more casual versions, like one in stripes. The prerequisite little black dress is also there along with some mini dresses for nights out.
For those who love that shimmer and shine, there are several outfits that reflect that while the more minimal ones are perfect for those who prefer classic pieces. —
