One to wear, one to wash and one spare
In cold climates, you can wear a T-shirt all day and wash it at night but in our tropical paradise you’re going to want to change. So count on wearing two T-shirts during the day, and have one spare.
T-shirts with collars
Round neck short-sleeved T-shirts are probably fine but if you have at least one with a collar you won’t be cold in air-conditioned buses. Also, if you plan to visit places of worship, a collar and long sleeves is a nice touch.
Designer fabric rules
Cotton is lovely but you’re going to be all sticky and sweaty after hopping off and on buses and boats so look for moisture wicking fabrics specially designed to soak up the sweat and keep you comfortable, dry and tidy looking.
Wear the heavy stuff
If you have a pair of walking boots and a set of flip-flops, wear the boots and carry the flip-flops. The less you have on your back, the better.
