Hands- on experience
One of Guo’s highlights so far has been the opportunity to work at a cutting- edge robotic dairy, based at the university’s rural Dookie campus.
“One thing that I didn’t expect to learn was the attitude shown by my supervisor, Kenny Oluboyede,” he says.
“He taught me that being a responsible dairy farmer means ensuring the dairy is running at an optimal level, which I would not be able to learn from going to lectures or reading books.”
Studying in Australia gives Guo the chance to learn not just from his lecturers, but also from his fellow students.
“I enjoy the experience and the opportunity to meet with students from all over the world.
“This allows me to exchange different experiences and knowledge with students from various cultural backgrounds,” he says.
Guo also finds time to pursue his passion for badminton in Melbourne and catch up with fellow Malaysians.
“Melbourne is not far from Malaysia ( approximately eight hours’ flight), and there is a high population of Malaysians here, as well as plenty of Malaysian restaurants and foods,” he said.
“All of those reasons mean being ‘ homesick’ is not an issue, allowing Malaysian
