Launch of an exciting event
ON July 2, Brickfields Asia College ( BAC) in collaboration with EduNation and Football Focus Asia officially launched the inaugural BAC Inter- School Futsal Competition 2015.
The event, slated to commence on Aug 1 at Sports Planet, Subang Grand, will feature 200 teams from different schools in the Klang Valley competing in a knockout format.
BAC managing director Raja Singham said, “As broadcast sponsor of the British Premier League on Fox Sports, we have seen the tremendous influence that sports, particularly football, has on Malaysian youth.
“We are delighted to work with Football Focus Asia that will oversee the logistics of this tournament, which will be held over four days in August with over 200 schools from all over peninsular Malaysia vying for the championship trophy and cash prizes for both team and school.”
BAC continues to expand and innovate, from bringing together youth from different communities via various activities to developing programmes that prepare students for a broader range of career prospects.
This revolutionary approach to education is offered in various forms such as specialist certificate programmes and career talks.
The Certificate in Legal Practice, more commonly known as the CLP, is an examination taken by foreign university law graduates to become qualified advocates and solicitors in Malaysia.
Since 2005, BAC students have made a clean sweep of the Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Award, which is presented to the Best Overall CLP Student in Malaysia. BAC students have also secured 55 out of 69 book prizes and obtained 56 out of 71 second uppers awarded nationwide over the past 10 years.
In 2015, for the 10th time in just as many years, Lee Mei Hooi, a BAC CLP student, received the Tun Hamid Omar Award for Best Overall Student in the country. This marks the first time students from the same institution have been awarded this coveted prize for the 10th consecutive year.
Four other BAC students also won book prizes, which recognise the student who has achieved the highest mark in individual papers – Vinothini Rajoo ( Evidence), Leow Zi Wong ( General Paper), Tan Li Wun ( General Paper) and Song Ee Rong ( Professional Practice).
BAC’s renowned faculty of highly qualified academics and significantly experienced practitioners along with meticulously prepared learning materials and round- the- clock support have contributed to its exceptional track record.
BAC aims to further augment its students’ credentials through continuous innovation and development of programmes such as the Masterclass Series ( MCS) – a revolutionary legal programme that prepares students to become holistic graduates.
The training is directed by a selected team of senior and highly respected members of the bar and bench.
The MCS focuses on the essentials of various areas of practice such as Advocacy Skills, Contract and Legal Drafting Skills, Opinion Writing, Conveyancing Law and Practice, Negotiation Skills, Commercial and Corporate Practice and Personal Injury Litigation.
Another programme unique to BAC is the Professional Plus Series, which is designed to upgrade and up- skill legal students and practitioners with relevant industry- specific knowledge taught by eminent legal practitioners, industry experts and experienced professionals.
It offers students the chance to explore different areas of practice prior to specialising in a specific area of law.
These certificate courses include areas such as Shipping Law and Practice, Oil and Gas Law, Administration of Estates, Islamic Banking and Finance, Media Law, Intellectual Property Law, Employment Law & Practice, Commercial Contracts and many more.
BAC’s CLP September intake is now underway. Sign up now, as seats are limited.
