The telogen phase is a natural phase of the hair growth cycle in which a small number of hair shafts are shed from the follicle.

Often, it is due to unhealthy habits such as excessive smoking and alcohol consumption, an imbalanced diet, irregular sleeping habits and others that contribute to degradation of the hair follicles and its associated structures.
