An uneasy ceasefire is ordered towards the end of the Korean War, but out on the Eastern front line of the Aerok Hills, fierce fighting continues. The troops must capture a strategic point to form a new border between the two Koreas. Then, a company commander in the South Korean army is found, seemingly murdered by one of his own. Defense Security Command Lieutenant Kang Eun Pyo ( Shin Ha Kyun) is ordered to investigate the murder. When he arrives at Aerok Hills, he is surprised to find his old friend Kim Soo Hyuk ( go Soo), who was presumed dead, leading the troops there.
