Novel source of omega- 3s
KRILL oil is the novel source of omega- 3 fatty acids occurring in the form of Eicosapentaenoic acid ( EPA) and Docosahexanoic acid ( DHA).
These are essential fatty acids our body needs but cannot manufacture and we have to get them from our diet.
Krill are small crustaceans found in oceans around the world, mostly in the Arctic and Antarctic seas.
They feed on microalgae that produce omega- 3 fatty acids and astaxanthin – an antioxidant that gives krill oil its distinctive red colour.
There are over 80 different krill species and the most commonly harvested is Euphausia superba, or Antarctic krill.
