Empowering by monitoring

-

NISSEI’S promise to its customers is reflected in its slogan Stability, Accuracy and Reliability. The Japanese company, which specialises in household and professional medical equipment, is one of the most seasoned digital blood pressure monitor manufacturers on the international arena.

Nissei first manufactured the digital blood pressure monitor in 1978, making it a pioneer in this field. Since then, the company has expanded its operations to produce a range of arm- and wrist- type monitors suitable for use across the world.

Its presence in 53 countries has allowed Nissei to capture 10% of the global digital blood pressure monitor market.

Based in Japan with factories in Japan, China and Indonesia, the company heavily invested in research and development to enhance efficiency and spur innovation.

Nissei’s line of monitors comes in arm and wrist variations. Its WSK1011 model is the first wrist- type blood pressure monitor to pass the European Society of Hypertension ( ESH) International Protocol 2010 ( IP2010).

ESH is a top platform for scientific exchange in hypertension from which Nissei blood pressure monitors received the IP2010 accreditation for clinically proven accuracy. This recognition stands as testament to the reliability of these devices.

Stability and reliability are also enhanced by the signature design of award- winning industrial designer and medical doctor Kazuo Kawasaki. The WSK- 1011 model is as user- friendly as it is functional, boasting features such as:

Automatic inflation to adjust the cuff to a size that fits.

M- shaped cuff – A patented design to ensure closer contact with the wrist, enabling accurate measurement. The wrist- type blood pressure monitor was previously considered an unreliable medical diagnostic tool; however, this issue has been solved by the WSK- 1011’ s M- shaped cuff.

Multifunctional capability to detect pulse rate, pressure and heartbeat rate.

Small and handy design, enabling convenience and portability.

User- friendly display with large characters suitable for the elderly.

“With this product, we are reaching out to a wide target market beyond medical suppliers and healthcare professionals,” says Kon Takabatake, manager of Domestic and Asian Sales Department at Nissei.

“The ultimate goal is mass adaptation by the public, with every household having at least one monitoring device of its own. When people can track their progress and see results, they are likely to be continuously motivated and take charge of their wellbeing,” he says.

Recognising Malaysians’ increasing concern for their own health and well- being, Nissei is optimistic that its products will be embraced by individuals and families who want to be in control of their health.

Also in the Nissei product range is the DSK- 1031 blood pressure monitor, which was launched locally in June.

This upper arm type device shares the technical features of the WSK- 1011, making it more than a blood pressure monitor.

The universal fit cuff of an armtype blood pressure monitor such as the DSK- 1031, which can be extended to 42cm, accommodates users of various body types and sizes.

Additionally, the cuff condition indicator ensures that the cuff is positioned just right to produce an accurate reading without causing discomfort.

Measured blood pressure values are classified according to the World Health Organization guideline, which gives users a general idea of what their reading indicates.

Looking forward, Nissei hopes to bring its recently launched bluetooth- enabled blood pressure monitors to Malaysian shores by next year.

This technology enables users to generate daily reports based on their readings and send the data to a panel doctor with the accompanying application.

Nissei is dedicated to creating simple yet highly functional and accessible medical products for the public. The WSK- 1011 and DSK1031 monitors are available at pharmacies nationwide, along with several other models.
