Staying true to ATC’s tradition of excellence

-

A FIRST Class Honours degree from the University of London’s International Undergraduate Laws Programme is almost impossible to achieve.

More often than not, only the crème de la crème of students even come close.

Once again, true to its tradition of excellence, ATC has produced a student who has captured the seemingly elusive accomplishment.

Tan Chuan Yi is from ATC’s Kuala Lumpur campus.

To top that, Tan is ranked number two in the world.

He is the 15th student from ATC to obtain this world- class achievement in the 28- year history of this long- standing institution.

This also makes ATC the only institution in the world to produce this many First Class Honours degrees for the University of London’s International Undergraduate Laws Programme.

This is by no means an easy feat.

First Class Honours

A First Class Honours student in this particular degree programme does not only have to work hard but would also have to go the extra mile to ensure his answers and arguments stand out among the thousands of students.

Tan shared, “From the time I began my A- Levels at ATC, I had the wonderful experience of working closely with my friends and lecturers, many with a great passion and dedication towards the study of law.

“ATC provides one- on- one sessions with the lecturers, called SASSY sessions, which are crucial to our understanding of the subject matter and gives us the opportunity to clear any of the doubts regarding the subject.

“I have certainly learnt a lot through many thought- provoking discussions with my lecturers, especially for subjects like Criminology and Jurisprudence.

“I think what helped me the most each year was the revision programme. At this time, the lecturers would highlight recent developments and go through multiple past year questions so that we are able to perfect our legal arguments.”

This year, ATC has double reason to celebrate.

It has also produced the winner of the Malaysian Law Scholarship for 2015.

The scholarship, fondly referred to as the King’s Scholarship, was awarded to Daphne Sit Wei Jing, also from ATC’s Kuala Lumpur campus.

In the past 20 years, ATC has managed to snag the highly coveted scholarship 16 times, at one point taking it nine years in a row.

Both Tan and Sit credited their lecturers at ATC for their remarkable success.

It is clear that ATC has a team of highly qualified faculty members.

These lecturers who have had many years of experience have collectively perfected their teaching technique that has resulted in the highly successful and unique ATC learning experience.

They need not go any further than the results of these two remarkable individuals to prove that they have formulated the perfect recipe for success.

ATC’s consistent track record of success is unrivalled.

In its 28- year history of educating and producing the finest legal professionals, ATC remains the single institution with the most awards.

The exceptional quality of ATC students has been recognised by the University of London with the university awarding the students with various book prizes and prestigious scholarships year after year.
