KBU has over two decades of excellent track record in conducting 3+ 0 programmes.

The college’s excellent track record and students’ extraordinary achievements are testimony that it is striving to offer the best for its students.

Renowned for its quality education, the college has raised its mark once again by being invited by the Education Ministry to form a university college by end of this year.

Its principal, Dr Chee Choong Kooi, said, “We take pride in our quality 3+ 0 degrees, which is offered at KBU in collaboration with our partners – Nottingham Trent University, Sheffield Hallam University and Anglia Ruskin University.”

He added that the college also maintains strong links with industry players to train the students to be able to face anything the corporate world may pose to them.

“Through the strong links with industry players, students will be able to make a strong connection between the abstract concept of their course and the reality of working in the discipline,” he said.

The School of Design, which works closely with Nottingham Trent University, adopts the curriculum of the partner university in its teaching and learning methods entirely.

As such, the School of Design is well known for incorporating design briefs into the teaching syllabus.

It also works closely with Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers, BROS ( Plastic Bottle Manufacturer and Supplier) and luxury brand name such as Ralph Lauren to incorporate competition briefs into the teaching syllabus.

So far, KBU design students have proven themselves by clinching numerous accolades in competitions such as Maybank’s # MakeityourM2U competition, IAI Design Awards, MIFF Design Award, MIID Reka Awards 2014, Bristol Student Design Competition 2013, Nippon Paint Young Design Competition, Philips Lightover Challenge and more.

Meanwhile, the School of Engineering and Computing, which collaborates with Sheffield Hallam University has proven its students are equipped with employability edge.

Every year, the School of Design invites industry players and professionals to participate in Innovation Day where students’ final- year projects are exhibited.

This definitely creates opportunity for students to rub shoulders with professionals and get hired instantly.

The School of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management deals with a leading hotel management institute in Switzerland, HTMi and Anglia Ruskin University to provide business and tourism management- related subjects.

The programmes are well structured as it allows students to be hired by top companies such as KPMG.

The School also conducts live lectures via video conferencing by lecturers from the UK, to enable students to get a taste of UK education.

The college is now offering eight franchised 3+ 0 programmes from three well- known UK universities in Engineering, Computing, Business, Management, Accounting and Design.
