Smart way to UK degrees

-

BRICKFIELDS Asia College ( BAC) has established itself as the fastest and smartest way to UK law and business degrees. With partnerships and affiliations with over 25 UK universities and professional organisations, BAC offers students access to over 100 worldclass degrees and professional qualifications to be completed either locally or abroad. Known as the nation’s No. 1 law school, BAC’s students have obtained excellent results in undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Over the past three years alone, BAC has produced over 400 World and National Top Students, Book Prize Winners, First Class and Second Class Upper graduates.

* Business School

As an alternative to law, BAC offers the UKT Degree Programme ( Business) where students can choose degrees that range from the most common ( Business Management) to the unconventional ( Logistics and Supply Chain Management) from over 10 prestigious UK partner universities.

* Law School

Students can opt to pursue their LLB ( Hons) via the University of London International Programmes, the only external law degree recognised by the Legal Professional Qualifying Board.

This programme allows students to complete all three years of study in Malaysia.

BAC also offers the UK Transfer ( UKT) Degree Programme ( Law), which allows students to study in Malaysia for up to two years before transferring to one of BAC’s prestigious UK partner universities for the remainder of the course. After obtaining a law degree, graduates may then choose to pursue the Certificate in Legal Practice ( CLP), which will qualify them to become advocates and solicitors in Malaysia.

At the undergraduate level, 29 graduates from eight different BAC UK partner universities were awarded First Class LLB ( Hons) in the May 2015 examination, a first for a local institution. BAC has now produced 99 First Class LLB ( Hons) graduates over the past four years. At the postgraduate level, BAC students secured 10 consecutive Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Awards for Best Overall CLP Student in Malaysia, 55 out of 69 Book Prizes and 56 out of 71 Second Class Uppers awarded in the CLP examinations since 2005.

In 2015, for the 10th time in just as many years, BAC student Lee Mei Hooi received the Tun Hamid Omar Award for Best Overall CLP Student in the country.

This is the first time that students from the same institution have been awarded this coveted prize for the 10th consecutive year. In addition, four BAC students won book prizes, recognising the highest mark achieved in individual papers – Vinhothini Rajoo ( Evidence), Leow Zi Wong ( General Paper), Tan Li Wun ( General Paper) and Song Ee Rong ( Professional Practice).

BAC’s exceptional track record demonstrates the college’s commitment to provide an exceptional educational experience. BAC’s winning combination of a faculty of qualified academics and experienced practitioners supplemented with comprehensive learning materials and total support ensure students enjoy a holistic education. BAC aims to further enhance students’ credentials through the innovative Masterclass Series ( MCS) programme.

The MCS is a revolutionary legal programme, which provides students with essential training in the core areas of legal practice such as Advocacy Skills, Contract and Legal Drafting Skills, Opinion Writing, Conveyancing Law & Practice, Negotiation Skills, Commercial and Corporate Practice and Personal Injury Litigation.

The MCS is delivered by a select team of senior and highly respected members of the bar and bench. Another programme unique to BAC is the Professional Plus Series ( ProPlus), which is designed to upgrade and up- skill legal students and practitioners with relevant industry- specific knowledge. This programme allows students to explore different areas of practice prior to specialising in a specific area of law. The ProPlus is taught by eminent legal practitioners, industry experts and experienced professionals.

The ProPlus includes Shipping Law and Practice, Oil and Gas Law, Administration of Estates, Islamic Banking and Finance, Media Law, Intellectual Property Law, Employment Law and Practice, Commercial Contracts and more. The September 2015 intake is in progress.
