AFTER a rough day, the last thing you want to do is spend an hour or two in the kitchen. With Rinnai’s new built- in microwaves that contain grilling and convection functions, you just have to place the food in it, press a few buttons and enjoy. Rinnai marketing manager Jean Se says the company is aware that people need more than “just a microwave”. “In these times, convenience is key. Also, with more people living in high- rise with limited space, we wanted them to own cooking tools that can multitask.”
The 34lt RO- M3411- ST combi convection microwave with grill has a large cavity cooking tool designed to give you a “proper” meal. It features a grill mode that is perfect for thin cuts of meat. If your sandwich or pastry needs a good toast, or your dish requires a nicely melted layer of cheese on top, this is the mode for you. It can also cook a pudding, omelette or baked potatoes. For raw food, simply choose the “microwave and grill” combined function. With a maximum cooking time of 95 minutes, you need not worry about keeping it going. The model also contains a convection function with a combination mode of “microwave + convection”, and even a preheat function.
For a good two- course meal, just place your pre- made dessert in the microwave before you have your main course and it will be ready when you are.

tures at different times, fear not. The microwave also contains nine auto- cook menus.
If you have forgotten to defrost your food, the microwave’s speed defrost function will serve you well. ( A tip: fish does not need to be fully defrosted before cooking. Defrost the fish until the surface is soft enough to absorb herbs and seasoning).
The sensor touch control with LCD display gives it a sleek look and allows you to control the settings with precision.
To prevent the microwave from being switched off by children or careless fingers, Rinnai has equipped it with a child lock. To keep the microwave cool ( and increase durability), an integral fan switches on automatically when it’s hot and switches off automatically once it cools.
To keep it clean, you just need a damp cloth with mild detergent. For any stubborn stains, boil a cup of water in it for two to three minutes, then proceed with wiping. To get rid of any residual smells, add a few spoonful of fresh lemon juice into a cup of water then boil for five minutes.
