LABUAN International School ( LIS) aspires to be a leading international school in Borneo, an institution renowned for excellent academic, arts and sports achievements.

With more than 10 years of excellent achievements, LIS continues to nurture children in mind, body and soul to help them become well- balanced individuals.

LIS meets desired standards, providing primary and secondary education in both national and international curricula. It offers parents the choice of an education that resonates with 21st century learning for the world of global communication and opportunities.

In addition to this winning edge, the credibility of the school is enhanced with its line- up of academic staff.

LIS has spared no effort and resource in engaging teachers who are qualified, professional, dedicated and trustworthy.

Teachers are constantly upgrading themselves to improve their teaching skills and techniques as well as enhance their knowledge through development courses conducted by established local teaching institutes and the University of Cambridge for International Examinations.

LIS has continuously embraced new ideas and state- of- the- art technology, including its Virtual Learning Environment platform – a learner- centred one- to- one learning programme that engages personalisation of learning and development of lifelong skills.

There is integration of KSPK ( Child Education Standard Curriculum), KSSR ( Primary School Standard Curriculum) and international curriculum, where English is the medium of instruction for all subjects except Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Students at Reception level are prepared for primary school, where reading, writing, counting and thinking skills are the main focus of their daily learning activities. Information technology skills are also taught during these early years. Students at Reception 2 level are geared for more advanced academic work at primary level.

The main primary school curriculum at LIS for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 follows the British curriculum with integration of the Singapore curriculum.

Some Malaysian national subjects are integrated into the international curriculum, with the secondary school level following the British curriculum.

In Year 10, students take the International General Certificate of Secondary Education ( IGCSE) course, culminating in the Cambridge International Examinations.

The school offers the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination to lower secondary students every academic year.

LIS prides itself in the variety of extracurricular activities that it offers. These activities build noble character and nurture leadership qualities while demonstrating the importance of discipline and teamwork.

The performing arts are also integrated into both primary and secondary school curricula to create students who have an ear for music, are proficient in at least one musical instrument and have a growing appreciation for dance and vocals.

The campus provides Wi- Fi, air- conditioned classrooms equipped with interactive teaching facilities, modern laboratories, a spacious cafeteria, boarding facilities, a state- of- the- art auditorium and art gallery, 24- hours gated security and an Olympic- sized swimming pool.
