The Star Malaysia - Star2

Exciting debut at Legoland

-

FOR the first time in history, Legoland Malaysia Resort has made it possible to enter the world of Ninjago with a live show titled Lego “Ninjago and The Realm of Shadows” that will be brought to life on stage with puppetry, video mapping, illusion, stage effects, music and all the characters it features such as Kai, Nya, Zane, Cole, Jay and Lloyd from the popular original hit series.

Scripted by award- winning Hollywood movie writers Kevin and Dan Hageman ( who also wrote The Lego Movie and the Ninjago TV series), the show has been created by an international team from seven countries.

Legoland Resort Malaysia general manager Mark Germyn said, “We are very proud to be the first Legoland Park in the world to launch this attraction, especially something of this scale. I’ve seen the work that goes behind the scenes, and we know our visitors are in for a real treat – the mixture of technology with traditional Banraku style puppetry is quite innovative and the storyline should be a thrill for the children.”

In this live show, the Ninjas – Kai, Nya, Zane, Cole, Jay and Lloyd – are on a mission to protect Bandit, a YinYang Dragon, that will one day grow up to be a powerful Light Dragon. The audience and the Ninjas must work together to protect Ninjago from the evil Clouse and his Shadow Minions that want to steal Bandit and plunge Ninjago into the Realm of Shadows.

The original series is set in the fictional world of Ninjago, where the land is divided between Ninjago and the Dark Island, where the Overlord resides.

It has an underworld, where evil beings such as Lord Garmadon and the Skullkins dwell, together with sacred places where many things are hidden or forgotten.

When the fate of their world is challenged by great threats, it’s up to the Ninjago warriors to defend their land at all cost. This storyline was shown in the new 10 episode series that aired last year, while the live show will round it off by being the “lost” or 11th episode.

Lego Ninjago and The Realm of Shadows will open to the public at Legoland Malaysia Resort on Aug 28 at the air- conditioned Lego City Stage and will be shown daily.

The Lego Movie 4D A New Adventure

Reuniting the stars of The Lego Movie in a Legoland Parks exclusive storyline, fans can look forward to finding out what happened after the blockbuster movie, when Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, MetalBeard and Benny reunite at the invitation of a shady new character, Risky Business, who plans to open a theme park bearing a suspicious resemblance to Legoland.

Returning to voice their iconic characters are actors Elizabeth Banks ( Wyldstyle), Nick Offerman ( MetalBeard), Charlie Day ( Benny) and Alison Brie ( Unikitty).

Actor, writer and comedian Patton Oswalt lends his voice to the scheming Risky Business, whose Evil Secret Plot requires the heroes to call on the Master Builder skills of a surprise ally to save the day.

The 4D short film will play several times a day at Legoland Malaysia Resort’s Lego Studio, housed in the Imagination area, with effects bringing the action out of the screen and into the audience.

Also upcoming for Lego fans are three more feature films – the as- yet untitled Lego Batman that opens on Feb 10, 2017; Ninjago on Sept 22, 2017 and The Lego Movie Sequel on May 18, 2018. Visit www. legoland. my to find out more.
