QUEENSBAY Mall is not only celebrating the pioneers’ struggle for the nation’s independence this Merdeka Day, but is also honouring our athletes who have bestowed great pride to Malaysia at the recent Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Our contingent did the country proud by clinching five medals — four silver and one bronze. Thus, it is only appropriate that they are recognised for their sacrifices.
As the Olympians have inspired generations of our athletes to come, Queensbay Mall is hosting a thrilling rock climbing event that aims to instil the values that bind us together as anak- anak Malaysia while putting your character, strength and fitness to the test!
Rock Climbing Challenge Aug 31 - 11am to 6pm
Did you know that the International Olympic Committee ( IOC) Session held early this month has officially approved the addition of Sport Climbing to the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic?
So, let’s gear up and sign up for the Rock Climbing Challenge today!
Participants, both children and adults, will compete to be the fastest climbers to reach the top and grab the Jalur Gemilang. This will literally be the fastest sport on the wall!
The grand prize winner in the adult category ( aged 16 years and above) will take home RM1,000 worth of prizes. The first and second runners- up will walk away with RM500 and RM300 worth of prizes respectively. There are also five consolation prizes worth RM200 each.
As for the children category ( aged six to 15 years with a minimum height of 100cm and above), the top three prizes are worth RM500, RM300 and RM200 respectively. There are also five consolation prizes of RM100 each.

Fun Rock Climbing Aug 27 to 30 - 11am to 10pm
For those who are not up to the challenge but simply want to give rock climbing a try, have some fun, play games and learn about the sport of climbing.
Now you can jump queue by registering for complimentary priority access to the Fun Rock Climbing event. That’s not all ... you will also receive a JuiceWorks voucher to refresh after the exhilarating climb!

Rock Climbing Birthday Bash Aug 28 - 2pm to 5pm
While the Fun Rock Climbing is open to all shoppers, do take note that the event area will be closed for the Q- Kids Club rock Climbing Birthday Bash. The party is limited to 60 children, aged three to 12 years old.

The indoor rock climbing event will provide a great opportunity to promote the sport and values of climbing towards renewed hope and independence.
