SOUTH Korean actor Lee Joon- gi had to lose a lot of weight to portray his character on the new drama Scarlet Heart. Lee talked about his physical transformation to Marie Claire Korea: “When the director said he wanted my ( character’s features) to seem sharper and pointed, I decided to lose 15kg. I’m currently maintaining it.” The 20- episode series, which is a remake of the 2011 Chinese drama of the same name, sees a modern day woman Go Ha- jin ( played by singer and actress IU) transported back to the Goryeo Dynasty era where she meets a prince, Wang Soo ( Lee). Director Kim Kyu- tae praised Lee’s performance on the show, telling Yonhap News Agency: “He had an immense and instantaneous level of concentration and immersion.” Next, the 34- year- old heart- throb will be making his Hollywood debut in Resident Evil: The Final

Chapter. He gushed about the experience to The Korea Times: “The female lead Milla Jovovich has inspired me the most with her stunt acting. I love stunts, too. When filming, we tried to synchronise our stunt action scenes as well as possible, and she accepted many of my suggestions.” –
