Built for business
THE Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is not only a beautiful smartphone but is also an ideal productivity tool for businesses.
At the Enterprise Business Showcase held at Putrajaya, the South Korean tech giant showed how businesses can benefit from the enterprise- ready features of the Note 7.
“The Note 7 combines intelligent security, productivity and manageability to help professionals increase efficiency while staying safe,” says Samsung Malaysia Electronics vice- president of mobile and IT business unit Lee Jui Siang.
One of the key features is the Knox security suite which protects the phone on the hardware and software levels. Through Knox, businesses can customise the device’s software by including corporate branding, preloading applications and presetting the device settings.
It also comes with secure Cloud storage solution for keeping sensitive files safe, and is one of the first few Androids to feature iris scanner for authentication – you can unlock the phone just by looking at it.
The Note 7 is also the first Note device to meet the IP68 standard for water resistance – you can dunk it under water ( up to 5ft) for up to 30 minutes.
The S Pen remains one of the most liked features about the Note range. This time around, it has been improved further to function like a pen. For instance, the tip has been made smaller ( 0.7mm) and pressure sensitivity has been doubled to 4,096 levels.
S Pen now comes with a feature for translating words – users just have to hover the pen over a word to see the translation for it. The Note 7 recognises 37 languages and is able to translate them into 71 languages, according to Samsung.
Other features include a large 3,500mAh battery, always- on display mode, 5.7in Quad HD dualedge display, 12- megapixel rear camera and 5- megapixel frontfacing camera.
According to Lee, the Note 7 will be released next month for RM3,199 ( inclusive of GST).
