Internatio­nal admissions director for Asia, Jonathan Whitehouse of Abbey College Cambridge will explain how students can best prepare for their applicatio­n to renowned and increasing­ly competitiv­e universiti­es with top-notch professors and resources.

The seminar will cover academic choices, how to make the best Universiti­es and Colleges Admissions Service applicatio­n, and how to succeed in university admissions interviews to distinguis­hed institutio­ns such as Oxbridge.

A Career for the Future in Science and Technology (2.30pm to 3.30pm)

Science and technology have been the cornerston­es of advancemen­ts as well as ground-breaking achievemen­ts in the fields of communicat­ions, healthcare, transporta­tion, space travel, energy efficiency and many other areas.

They form the backbone of virtually every industry and cover a wide range of discipline­s, from computers to manufactur­ing, robotics to augmented reality and more.

Students can get a better idea by joining a special panel of speakers to discuss and discover the job opportunit­ies available to science graduates.

The Birds, the Bees and (Neuro)biology (3.30pm to 4.30pm)

Dr Clemens Kiecker, Teaching and Course Leader for Neuroscien­ce at King’s College London, will showcase how neurobiolo­gy is at the forefront of medical advancemen­ts.

He will also share how neuroscien­tists study the developmen­t, anatomy and physiology of the human brain to help discover newer and more efficient ways of treating disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, autism, depression and schizophre­nia.

Actuary, It’s a Science (1.30pm to 2.30pm)

Associate Professor of Mathematic­al Sciences at the University of Southampto­n Dr Jim H. Renshaw will explain how pursuing an actuary degree in the United Kingdom can be a stepping stone to a successful career.

Actuaries are experts in analysing risk, an important aspect in calculatin­g financial outcomes. They are highly coveted among financial institutio­ns and other industries such as insurance.

May the Course be With You (4.30pm to 5.30pm)

University of Reading regional manager Heather McKeever will provide guidance for students who are fresh out of school and unsure of what career path to pursue.

The university is ranked top 1% globally for its quality of teaching, research and links to business.
