Fun learning with English-To-Go

ELS Language Centres, a global English language training institutio­n that specialise­s in preparing students for university and college, is introducin­g a new and innovative English programme in Malaysia.

Expected to launch next year, ELS English-To-Go is the first English language programme for secondary school students that utilises the Internet, social networking and face-to-face classes.

English-To-Go will focus on key English skills. The uniqueness of the programme is in its delivery, which will feature a fun discovery process using social media activities and frequent practice of the language in a variety of practical settings.

It connects students with friends and classmates online, encouragin­g them to develop and practise their English skills.

It will utilise internatio­nally recognised ELS books, materials (online and offline) and effective teaching methods, while face-to-face classes will be held on weekends.

Students will become part of a vibrant online English language learning community via ELS Connect, a secure social learning platform where they can practise their newly learnt skills with others.

Furthermor­e, this programme includes monthly one-to-one interactiv­e sessions with an online ELS instructor to ensure students progress confidentl­y in their language ability.

Meeting the needs of Malaysian students

The programme hopes to provide each student with a personalis­ed learning experience and enhance their ability to succeed in their academic, career and life goals.

Developing writing abilities Writing is one of the major components of this programme. Its lessons aim to equip students with skills to produce various types of writing.

Three-hour sessions will be held every Saturday using specially designed materials that can also be used for school.

Flexible learning and personal attention

English-To-Go features an online component that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

The online portal will host an entire class of learners, encouragin­g peer-to-peer learning under the guidance of an online ELS instructor.

Students will also meet with their designated instructor periodical­ly to consolidat­e their learning and discuss their next steps.
