A camera for selfies
FUJIFILM has just launched the latest version of its entry-level mirrorless camera, the X-A3.
Fuji is promoting the X-A3 as a selfie camera because its 3in touchscreen LCD monitor can be flipped 180° to face forwards.
The retro-styled X-A3 also has a couple of new self-timer functions like Smile Detection, Buddy Timer and Group Timer, all aimed at snapping photos automatically when a subject smiles, or when two or more people enter the frame.
Aside from its selfie-friendliness, the X-A3 is a pretty well-specified mirrorless camera – it comes with a newly-developed 24-megapixel sensor, standard ISO setting of 200 to 25,600, 49-point autofocus system in Single Point mode (and 77 points in Zone/ Wide Tracking modes) and WiFi image transfer.
In terms of video, the X-A3 can capture full HD 1080p videos at up to 60fps (frames per second).
The camera also comes with Fuji’s Film Simulation modes which reproduce the look of famous Fuji films like Astia, Provia and Velvia.
As part of the X-A3 launch, Fuji is also working with local fashion designer Hatta Dolmat to introduce a number of special edition items, namely limited edition T-shirts and neck straps designed by him.
In a bid to encourage consumers to start printing their photos, Fuji also announced the opening of the Wonder Photo Shop in Sunway Pyramid.
The store doesn’t just let consumers print their photos as regular prints, but also allows your images to be turned into calendars and even button badges and other pieces of art.
The X-A3 is available now and comes bundled with the XC 16-50mm kit lens for RM2,888.
