DON’T miss the chance to watch the Indian cinema playback singers Dr KJ Yesudass, Vijay Yesudass and Swetha Mohan in a onenight-only concert on Dec 3.

Taking place at Dewan Wawasan, PGRM, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur at 7pm, the concert will also see an additional 14 musicians accompanyi­ng the three singers.

The concert is to raise funds to build the Putrajaya Devi Sri Lalithaamb­igai Temple, which started its constructi­on early this year. It needs to raise RM2mil more to complete the main structure of the temple.

In a press release, it is stated that Yesudass will be performing some of his legendary 1980s hits.

Yesudass has recorded more than 20,000 songs in a career that started 50 years ago, recording numbers in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.

In 2006 alone, he recorded 16 songs for various Indian films. For his vast contributi­on, he was bestowed the title Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2002.

Among his popular Tamil songs are Deivan Thantha, Kathal Kayangale, Uravugal Thodarkath­ai, Enadhu Vaalkai and Kanne Kanne.

Meanwhile, some of the classic Bollywood numbers he performed include Tere Bin Soona, Jaanam Jaanam, Bole To Baansuri and Dil Ke Tukde Tukde.
