-

MANAGEMENT & Science University (MSU) student Muhammad Aizat Shahar has beaten 16 other undergraduates vying for the Best Accounting Student Award from the Malaysian Institute of Accounting (MIA).

The prestigious award entitles him to pursue a professional programme of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a leading organisation promoting the development of accountancy and finance professionals and supporting thousands of chartered accountants worldwide. Muhammad Aizat also received a cash prize of RM500.

Realising his dream

The aspiring accountant sees the award as a good start to realising his dream of becoming an auditor. He wants to gather as much experience as he can from the industry in the three years of work he has planned to undertake before completing his ICAEW papers and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Currently in his final part of internship at a member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, Muhammad Aizat believes he has made all the right choices for his career progression.

He attributes this success to both the encouragement of his family and friends and the guidance of his lecturers at MSU, citing the attention and commitment of his lecturers as the driver of his plans and his unique MSU learning experiences as giving him the edge to excel academically and personally.

MSU is the first private university accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. As one of Malaysia’s best teaching and learning universities, it emphasises experiential and holistic learning.

International exposure

MSU embeds the components of industry internship, international exposure and personal enrichment into compelling learning experiences that equip MSU graduates with the well-roundedness required by the 21st-century workplace.

The effectiveness of the MSU approach is proven by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education graduate tracer study.

Leading the national average of 70% to 80%, MSU claims top spot with 98.6% of its graduates obtaining employment within six months of their graduation.

MSU graduates remain a popular choice in the job market, and MSU a national leader in 21st-century higher education.
