Studying in an inspiring country

-

FOR many years Ireland has been famous in Malaysia as the best overseas destination for Malaysian students interested in pursuing medical and dental careers.

The many medical professionals now working in Malaysia who completed their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Ireland over the past 75 years can attest to this fact.

The Irish Universities Medical Consortium (IUMC) is the one place you need to study medical sciences in Ireland.

The office in Kuala Lumpur serves as the single point of contact for Malaysia and the wider Asean region and any students or parents interested to know more about the four universities that make up the IUMC are encouraged to contact IUMC directly.

The IUMC represents the Medical Schools of the National University of Ireland, Galway, Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork and University College Dublin.

National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) was founded in 1845 and continues to be an international top-quality destination, winning the Excellent International Student Satisfaction Award in 2015.

Fourteen per cent of the over 14,000 students are from overseas and aside from an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching, the university also ensures personal development, covering the intellectual, physical, social and cultural domains of each of its students.

Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is the oldest university in Ireland, founded in 1592. It is located in the centre of Dublin, the Irish capital.

The campus has state-of-the-art libraries, laboratories, IT facilities and a modern sports centre alongside splendid historical buildings.

There are over 14,000 students from over 114 countries in TCD, making it a multicultural experience for all students.

University College Cork (UCC) was originally established as Queen’s College in 1845 and recently awarded the title of University of the Year for the fifth time by the FT Education Guide. UCC was also the first third-level educational institution in the world to win the International Green Flag award in 2010. The university has over 17,000 students from over 100 countries around the globe.

Established in 1654, University College Dublin (UCD) is the largest university in Ireland and is situated three miles to the south of Dublin city centre – a vibrant, modern university with first-class academic and facilities and comprehensive student support services.

UCD graduates are noted for their excellence, creativity, critical thinking, communication, innovation and leadership qualities.
