Multifaceted appeal
Diverse urban centres inspire Swarovski for Spring/Summer 2017.
SOMETIMES you don’t need to go far to find beauty. With more than half the world’s population living and working in cities, Swarovski found its next big inspiration within urban centres.
The brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection draws from the modernity of Paris and Los Angeles – a departure from its previous venture into the depths of the seas and vastness of the galaxy.
Creative director Nathalie Colin says that beauty is very often just around the corner. She was inspired by the two cities she loves: Paris where she lives, and Los Angeles, a place she often travels to for photo shoots.
“Every woman can express her style and mood with this collection; by stacking, layering and mixing jewellery with a personal, chic twist. This is a great way to look and be brilliant,” she states.
The romantic side of Paris is expressed through floral colours and feminine designs. Los Angeles, on the other hand, is the source for a more fluid silhouette, as well as the must-have palm tree motifs.
Swarovski is also celebrating versatility this season. The new designs can be switched up from day to evening, offering women different looks for various occasions and dressing.
The Crystaldust bangles, for example, can be worn on upper arms, as a choker, or even as a headband. They sport fringes and elongated shapes, which allow for easy layering.
Spring/Summer 2017 sees the unveiling of Swarovski’s latest Be Brilliant campaign as well. Starring model Karlie Kloss, it celebrates the spirit of giving and how the new collection inspires brilliance in everyone.
With her spontaneous, carefree attitude, Kloss is said to perfectly embody the daring and irresistible spirit of the brand. The ad shows her and friends Martha Hunt and Shu Pei having an adventure on crystal-accented bikes.
