HINO’s new 300 Series gets safer
HINO Motors Sales Malaysia (HMSM) introduced its 300 Series range of light commercial vehicles with improved power and enhanced safety features to mark its 40th anniversary in the country.
The 5.0-tonne 300 Series 6-wheeler trucks are offered with a threeyear or 100,000km (whichever comes first) warranty and are available in three variants, which can be had with nine body options for the seven-seater XZU720Crew with rear cab, the XZU720 and XZU730.
Although each truck is available with different body options, safety has been standardised throughout the range with the inclusion of anti-lock braking system, door impact beams, energy absorbing steering wheel and column as well as partitioned side view mirrors.
Power has also been standard- ised with a 4.0-litre (4,009cc) turbo-diesel N04C-VB Euro3 engine providing 156PS at 2,800rpm and 429Nm of torque at 1,400rpm, which has been mated to a sixspeed A860E transmission or a 5-speed M550 manual for the XZU720Crew.
The shifter’s position in the Standard Cab models remain unchanged, however the instrument panel has been re-designed to help increase leg-room clearance.
“Putting safety first is our priority in order to avoid any unwanted road traffic accidents that could harm other road users,” said HMSM managing director Ken Iwamoto.
In conjunction with the launch, the company also revealed three new promotional services, such as the Free Parts Programme, Care For Life insurance protection scheme and first-year free HINO ArmTech vehicle tracking system.
