The Talking Cave

-

“DON’T even think about it. This could be your final destination.” These were words that came from the Talking Cave in Alton Hill. The cave was so named because whoever stepped into the cave would hear a mysterious voice talking to them.

Rumour went round that a rich man once lived in that cave. He hid his treasures there so that thieves would not steal them.

Soon after he passed away, a man named Rodger went missing. After he went missing, there was a string of bank robberies in town. Small jewellery shops and even big banks were hit.

Police tried as hard as they could to find the culprit but to no avail.

Mark and Twain were best friends in Alton Hill. They too knew about the legend of the Talking Cave. One day, they hatched a plan to go inside the cave to find the source of the mysterious voice.

When the day arrived, Mark and Twain told their parents that they were going to their friend’s house for a sleepover.

It was midnight and pouring heavily. After walking for a long time, the boys finally reached the cave. They stepped into the dark cave.cave They wawalked deepp into the cave. Suddenly, the boys saw a bright light. They went nearer and were shocked to see a lot of jewellery, gold and money.

Twain took out his phone and called the police. Then they heard a man’s voice from behind them. The boys turned around and saw a tall figure. As the figure approached them, the boys saw that it was Rodger!

Rodger looked very angry. He asked the boys why they were in the cave.

“Is this the Talking Cave?” Twain asked Rodger.

“Yes,” Rodger replied. He did not know that the police were on the other end of the line.

Mark and Twain tried to run away but Rodger caught them and tied them up.

The police rushed to the Talking Cave. They searched and searched, and finally found the boys. The police untied the boys. Mark told them that Rodger was hiding in the corner. The police found Rodger and handcuffed him.

Rodger confessed that he was the one behind the spate of robberies in town.

The police praised the boys for helping them to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Rodger.

From then on, Mark and Twain became famous in Alton Hill.
