Song of the week
Katy Perry Chained To The Rhythm
THE last time we heard from Katy Perry was in 2014 with
This Is How We Do. (Last year’s lacklustre Rise, the theme for Team USA’s Olympics does not count.) So, it was with much glee that Katycats – what Perry fans are known as – greeted this new surprise new song.
Perry goes back to what she does best with Chained
To The Rhythm, a feet-tapping, sing-a-long ditty featur- ing Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip – which explains the raggae-tinged sound.
Written by Perry, Sia, and Max Martin – the latter two are responsible for some of today’s biggest hits – you can bet this song is going to be yet another hit for Perry. And when she sings, “Turn it up it’s your favourite song”, you can’t help but do as you’re told.
