IN the 21st century, the paradigm of a “job for life” or “lifetime employment” has shifted to one of “lifetime employability”, with a particular dependence on progressive, adaptable skills.

Highly employable

Brickfields Asia College’s (BAC) commitment to transform lives through education is an approach that prepares students in the best way, making them highly employable always.

The top two questions a student would ask when preparing for higher studies are: “Can I achieve professional success through my chosen degree?” and “How can I grow personally through the course of my study?”.

Few choose to pursue a degree within the social science framework. Despite the old stereotypes of social science degrees – it is difficult to get a job or earn much with one – there is a wealth of data that proves otherwise.

World leaders – whether in government, business, or non-profit sectors – are mostly drawn from social sciences graduates.

Part of the reason social science majors are predisposed to success is their promotion of soft skills and flexible qualities.

These include critical thinking, oral and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, technical, analytical, organisational and problem-solving.

These attributes are important to employers and organisations dealing with a rapidly globalised and more complexed world.

Graduates perhaps end up in leadership and managerial roles because they have the ability to see the bigger picture, thanks to the strong foundation laid by studying these fields.
