Founder: Kamelia Nisha, 23. Branding: The Kamelia Mermaid Matte Lip Cream is a non-drying lipstick with a matte finish. It’s long lasting, transfer-free and highly pigmented. It’s also nourishing as it is infused with argan oil, vitamin E oil and shea butter. This lipstick is available in nine shades.

What sparked the idea for your brand?

As a young girl I loved mermaids and lip products, especially lip gloss which I hoard! With Kamelia Cosmetics I hope to inspire women to embrace their “inner mermaid”, to never stop being creative, dreaming and having fun through make-up and in life as a whole.

Why lipsticks?

They are the easiest and fastest way to change your look. For example, a dusty pink hue helps a girl look demure while a vampy red casts an edgy and sexy vibe.

What was the most important thing for your brand?

To provide comfortable and hydrating wear despite its matte finish, hence the inclusion of nourishing ingredients.

Where is it made and what are the standards?

They are manufactured locally and approved by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. They are also 100% cruelty and paraben-free.
