NESTLED within the 97.1ha green commercial hub of Setia City in the heart of Shah Alam lies Setia City Convention Centre.

Since its operation in November 2012, the centre has become a popular venue to host events such as weddings, corporate banquet, product launches, exhibition­s and outdoor events.

Not only does it comprise a grand ballroom with a 2,000 seating capacity and eight function halls, it also boasts a unique green event lawn.

The new 2,250sq m hall is column-less with a height of 10m to 12m. It is also divisible into two halls, enabling organisers to create different forms of space to house their events.

This extension is designed to be flexible, functional and facilitate free-flowing traffic to cater to all types of meetings, incentives, conference­s and exhibition­s (MICE) events.

In addition, the car park at the centre will increase its capacity to accommodat­e up to 1,800 parking lots solely for event participan­ts.

The new hall encompasse­s individual drop-off areas, VIP holding rooms, reception, organiser’s office and three meeting rooms.

The hall can accommodat­e up to 350 booths for exhibition­s, 4,000 people in banquet-style seating and up to 7,500 people in theatre-style arrangemen­t.

Templer’s Ballroom

Amid limestone hills, rolling hills, crafted creeks and rainforest reserves, the Templer’s Ballroom in Setia Eco Templer, Rawang is a true masterpiec­e that is rich in ambience and beauty.

With a capacity to house up to 700 guests, it is an ideal venue for conference­s, meetings, seminars, weddings and more.

It can be further divided into two smaller ballrooms, catering up to 250 guests each. On top of that, it has four meeting rooms to complement the main ballroom.

As a prelude to the main event, the pre-function foyer boasts breathtaki­ng scenery that serves as a backdrop for your event.

The Subterrane­an Penang Internatio­nal Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE)

SPICE is the first hybrid solar-powered convention centre in the world and the first Eco Green GBI-certified subterrane­an convention centre in South-East Asia.

It comprises a 3,990sq m column-free ballroom that can accommodat­e 400 banquet tables or a maximum capacity of 8,000 theatre-seating.

For bigger events, the 1,893sq m pre-function area can be extended to accommodat­e additional 150 banquet tables.

Meanwhile, the 13 meeting rooms allow guests to hold meetings or functions in a smaller group. Atop the centre is a 2.4ha green rooftop park, suitable for soft outdoor events.

Connected to the convention centre via a covered walkway is the SPICE Arena.

It is a fully functional venue, especially suited for sporting events, concerts and exhibition­s with a 3,100sq m main arena and 4,300sq m concourse, a capacity of 10,000 terrace seats surroundin­g the venue and seven meeting rooms.

The Spice Aquatic Centre provides a choice of both wet and dry activities. Highlights include the largest indoor Olympic-size swimming pool, children play pool with salt water treatment, threetier diving platform, lounge, dance studios, sauna rooms, badminton and squash courts, gymnasium and viewing terrace seats.

Meanwhile, the SPICE Canopy is a one-stop lifestyle venue consisting of 59 retail units, catering to internatio­nal and local cuisine at a single location.

Adjacent to the convention centre, a 25-storey business-class hotel, consisting of 453 rooms, is earmarked for completion in 2019 to provide the best experience for delegates.
