Finding one’s dream home
NOW is the best time to buy residential and commercial properties as the Johor property outlook is showing good improvement this year despite challenging times.
Johor Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (Rehda) branch chairman Datuk Steve Chong Yoon On says buyers are coming back into the market albeit at a slow pace.
“Things started to pick up in the second-half of 2016 and we expect and our members expect the momentum to continue this year,’’ he says in an interview.
Also present at the interview are Johor Rehda branch treasurer Wong Kuen Kong, assistant branch secretary Siew Fook Wah and committee members Chin Kuie Too, Datuk John Chan Yee Hua and Ku Hwa Seng.
Encouraging sales
Chong says Johor Rehda members recorded encouraging sales in the second-half of last year despite uncertainties in the global economic growth.
He says on that note, “Opportunities Ahead” has been chosen as the theme for the first edition of Malaysia Property Expo (Johor MAPEX 2017) this year.
Johor MAPEX 2017 is taking place from today until April 23, at Aeon Jusco Tebrau with 31 developers taking part in the three-day event showcasing a wide range of properties from residential to commercial to industrial. In the offing are 4,245 units of properties estimated at RM2.9bil.
Vouchers for buyers
Chong says the highlight of this year’s event is MAPEX Hot Deals where 11 developers are offering RM10,000 vouchers to buyers who purchase a property from one of them.
The RM10,000 vouchers subject to developer’s stock and visitors should consult with the individual developer for more information.
The developers are Austin Heights Sdn Bhd, Country View Resources Sdn Bhd, Dynasty View Sdn Bhd (UMLand Seri Austin), Johor Land Bhd, Khoo Soon Lee Realty Sdn Bhd (KSDL Properties and Mah Sing Properties Sdn Bhd.
Others are MB World Group Bhd (Cocoa Valley Development Sdn Bhd), Pulai Group Sdn Bhd, Tanjung Bintang Sdn Bhd, TRC Land Sdn Bhd and UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd.
All under one roof
“MAPEX 2017 is the best place for prospective house buyers to look for their dream home under one roof as there are many reputable developers taking part in the event,” he says.
Chong adds that apart from a wide range of products, prospective house buyers will have a better insight on products that suit their financial capabilities.
He says there is something for everyone from a first-time house buyer to upgrader as well as extended families looking for a suitable home or those looking properties as investments.
Chong says Iskandar Malaysia will continue to be the main factor in driving the economic growth in southern part of Johor by attracting domestic and foreign investors.
“The influx of investors will create job opportunities and also attract new residents; hence demand for properties will also going up,” he says.
Chong said Johor Baru’s close proximity with Singapore, an international trade and financial hub is an advantage for developers in Iskandar Malaysia as foreign buyers will have the best of both worlds.
Chong says Johor Rehda members recorded encouraging sales in the second-half of last year despite uncertainties in the global economic growth.
