BREAK fast over traditional Malaysian delicacies at Flamingo Hotel by-the-beach Penang’s Ramadan Mubarak Kampung Ku Buffet Dinner.
Its nostalgic ambience and homely flavours are sure to take diners back to a time before electronic gadgets, when the breaking of fast with loved ones meant lots of good food, laughter and joy.
Served at the Halal-certified Flamingo Cafe between 7pm and 10pm daily from May 28 to June 24, it has several menus on rotation. But there is always Ulam-Ulaman with several types of sambal.
Otherwise, get the appetite going with acar, Sotong Kangkung, Samosa Ubi Goreng, Jeruk Buahbuahan, Sup Ketam dan Jagung, or Sup Ekor Lembu.
Then, hit the mains for special recipes like Rendang Tok, Ketam Masak Masam Pedas, Gulai Kepala Ikan Salmon Dengan Bendi or Udang Masak Masam Manis.
Also not to be missed are the Nangka Muda Masak Kari Ikan Bilis, Dalca Kambing, Sotong Goreng Berempah, Ketam Masak Tiga Rasa and Kambing Masak Merah.
Next, help yourselves to Laksa Kedah, Lemang dan Ketupat Kukus dengan Rendang Daging dan Serunding Daging, Mee Rebus Tulang Kampung or Mee Udang.
The action stations serve up house specialties like Durian dan Cempedak Goreng, Daging ala Mongolian BBQ, Tandoori Ayam Golek, Daging Percik Golek, Ikan Bakar, Aneka Satay and Ikan Pari Bakar ala Portugis.
Kuih-muih Melayu, Buah Kurma, Pengat Pisang, ice cream and more, await at the dessert section. The buffet is priced at RM75 for adults and RM45 for children aged 4 to 11, from Monday to Thursday.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it is tagged at RM85 for adults and RM49 for children, as there is additional Kambing Bakar dengan Sos BBQ dan Pudina.
From May 28 to 31, there is a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion. After that, from June 1 onwards till the end of Ramadan, guests can enjoy a Buy 5 Pay 4 offer.
Guests who book and pay at least five days in advance of their dining date, will also be entitled to a 30% discount off the entire bill.
Alternatively, one can purchase buffet vouchers at RM55 for weekdays and RM65 for weekends. There are nightly lucky draws with attractive prizes ranging from room stays to meal vouchers, for those who dine at the buffet.
If you are visiting from out of town, do take advantage of the hotel’s Weekdays Special package, which offers a one night’s stay in a Deluxe Room for two, at RM333. The promotion is valid from May 28toJune22,forstaysonSunday to Thursday.
It includes buffet breakfast or Sahur, as well as the Ramadan buffet dinner, for two.
Besides these, the cafe also offers a High Tea Buffet Lunch every Saturday and Sundaymania Buffet Lunch every Sunday. All prices are nett.
