From radio to reads

- – Terence Toh

RADIO DJs Sam Mak (aka Dai Bou) and Anson Kow are good friends both on and off the air. The two, who cohost 988’s Morning Up Breakfast Show, are also gym buddies – so , naturally, it seemed like a great idea to team up and write a book on health.

In their book, titled My 30 Lessons, the duo shares experiences and lessons learned from their journey towards a fit and healthy lifestyle. From discovering the true meaning of the saying “no pain no gain” to finding effective ways to build good habits, Sam and Anson (they go by just first names) aim to inspire readers with their entertaining anecdotes and observations.

“First things first: this is not a fitness manual. The 30 lessons include things that came to my mind when I was working out at the gym, but don’t expect tips on shaping up or losing weight. It’s more motivational. It’s about well-being. It’s about life,” says Sam in a press release.

“This book is an important milestone in my decade-long career as a radio announcer,” Anson adds.

“I hope that My 30 Lessons will have a positive impact on those who read it. I also want to thank readers in advance for their support.

“I am very grateful that Sam and I were able to bring this book idea to fruition.”

The book has a double cover featuring both Sam and Anson.

My 30 Lessons is available exclusively at got1shop.com.

The book will be launched tomorrow at BookFest@Malaysia 2017, the book exposition that began yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and continues till July 2. Fans can meet Sam and Anson at the launch and book signing tomorrow at 5pm at Hall 1 in the KLCC.
