“Being in this industrial placement has taught me and given me a clearer picture as to where the knowledge I have gained in the pharmaceutical chemistry programme at IMU is to be practised,” she said.
“I could not have successfully completed my internship without the continuous guidance and support from my manager and helpful colleagues.”
She added that the Problem-based Learning sessions during her IMU studies have helped her in critical-thinking and problem-solving while dealing with tough situations.
In addition, the soft skills she gained in IMU aided her when she was exposed to new work cultures and environments.
The pharmaceutical chemistry degree from IMU is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK.
The course is undertaken entirely at IMU and completed in three years, or six semesters.
Upon completion of the degree, graduates can enter the workforce and begin their career as chemists in pharmaceutical and other chemical industries.
After obtaining the IMU BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry degree, those who meet the academic criteria can also continue to pursue the Master of Pharmacy programme at the University of Sydney or Curtin University in Australia.
