The right touch
Whatever your skin colour or tone, Riri has created a shade for you.
AFTER years of experimenting with the best in make-up, Rihanna, also known as Bad Girl Riri, was inspired to create Fenty Beauty, her make-up line.
Fenty Beauty was recently launched in Kuala Lumpur at Sephora – where the brand is exclusively available – to coincide with an unprecedented global launch. So for the first time, a beauty brand was made available around the world on the same day.
The idea came about after seeing a void in the industry for products that performed across all skin types and tones.
According to Newsweek, Rihanna inked a US$10mil (RM42mil) deal with Kendo Brands, a LVMH-owned beauty developer, to launch Fenty Beauty.
The development of beauty products is not new for Rihanna as she has previously collaborated with MAC on several make-up collections.
She launched Fenty Beauty “so Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty ‘so that women everywhere would be included’, focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard to match skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types. — Fenty Beauty/Sephora
that women everywhere would be included”, focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard to match skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types.
On Twitter, Rihanna said, “You knooowwww it! Gotta represent for my girls and we come in all shades! Especially my brown sisters... been left out too many times in the makeup world.”
Fenty Beauty products are designed to feel lightweight, even as they deliver buildable coverage with the aim of “making skin look like skin”.
Spending years refining her go-to make-up technique, testing it backstage, on stage and in real life, Rihanna’s killer radiant complexion is now accessible to all.
“The Fenty Face was created for women of all skin tones, of all personalities,” she says in a press statement. “These steps are key to starting your make-up, no matter the look you’re going for.”
For Rihanna the secret to radiance lies in the first step of the Fenty Face, a Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation – because no matter your skin type, adding glow on glow equals unwanted shine.
The second step is to layer your highlight for strategically placed glow and it’s basically about lighting up where you want.
Lastly, we all sweat and in reality make-up runs after some time, so she has created a face blotter, the Invisimatte Blotting Powder, to keep your skin shine-free and more importantly, photoready for your never ending social media posts!
Her complexion focused products include the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer; Match Stix Trio to conceal, contour and highlight; Match Stix Matte Skinstick; Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick, Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo and of course, a lip product, the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.
To keep you covered while on the go, she has also created portable make-up brushes from a Contour and Concealer brush, highlighter brush, precision make-up sponge to a touch-up brush!
The hexagonal shape of the products make it more ergonomic, and, to keep it all together in your bag, her make-up products are magnetic so they will cling together.
The full range of products are currently available at Sephora.
