Beating constipation blues

-

CONSTIPATION in children is more common a problem than we may think.

It can actually make bringing up a child far more difficult than it needs to be.

When left untreated, however, it can lead to complications such as vomiting, fever, stomach ache, poor appetite and an irritable constitution.

This condition is characterised by symptoms such as irregular bowel movements (less than three times a week), dry and hard stools, pain when passing stool and a small amount of blood on stool surface and diaper.

To address this problem of constipation in children, Morinaga Chil-kid is enriched with GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides) – a prebiotic that helps improve bowel function by stimulating the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria in the colon.

In turn, this promotes the production of soft, normal stool.

Studies have shown that GOS can help improve calcium and magnesium absorption, increase bone density and reduce the chances of infectious diseases, allergies and the severity of cold and flu.

Along with GOS, Morinaga Chil-kid is also fortified with DHA Omega-3 fatty acids and AA (arachidonic acid) to boost immunity and blood clotting, as well as the development of other vital functions in the body such as the brain, eyes and heart.

Morinaga Chil-kid is also enriched with five nucleotides, which have been shown to lessen the risk of diarrhoea in children and enable better response to vaccination.

These nucleotides also encourage the production of antibodies and other cells that boost immunity.

Morinaga Chil-kid ensures that these nutrients are provided in their respective recommended amounts to fulfil your child’s needs.

This contributes to a healthier growing process to help form emotionally and physically fit children, who are then better able to face challenges in life, develop healthy self-esteem and confidently build strong relationships with others.
