BASED on a standardised measure of required skill proficiency by GMAC (2014) Corporate Recruiters Survey, companies demand five specific skills set when hiring new business graduates: communication, teamwork, leadership, technical and managerial.

GMAC is a non-profit organisation comprising global graduate business schools.

Companies groom future talents to take over leadership roles but candidates need to possess more than just basic communication and interpersonal skills to be effective and strong leaders.

Graduates need both soft skills and real world skills, according to a European consulting recruiter in the survey.
