Accord gets Honda Sensing

-

HONDA Malaysia has upgraded the 2.4-litre VTi-L Accord with Honda Sensing, making it the second vehicle after the CR-V 1.5 TC-P to be equipped with the advanced safety features.

The Accord Advance now costs RM169,800 on-the-road inclusive of GST without insurance or some RM2,000 more than previously.

The flagship Accord variant in Malaysia still maintains the same premium features which include front and rear LED lights, a 7-inch Advanced Display Audio unit with i-MID that is Apple CarPlay compatible and Android Auto ready, and Honda LaneWatch camera.

It also retains the 175PS/225Nm 2.4-litre engine mated to a fivespeed automatic transmission.

Honda Sensing consists of driver-assist safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

Honda Malaysia group vice-president Akkbar Danial said the inclusion of the new features would place the Accord ahead of rivals in the D-Segment.

“With this upgrade, the Accord with Honda Sensing now offers an unbeatable complete premium package of smart and elegant features such as LED headlights, smartphone connectivity and a host of standard safety features,” he said at the launch in Putrajaya last week.

Honda Malaysia also said the entry-level 2.0-litre Accord would only be served by the VTi-L variant whose price remained unchanged at RM149,350.

The 2.0-litre Accord VTi variant has been discontinued.
