Studying at a top varsity in London
KING’S College London is one of the top 25 universities in the world (2018 QS World University Rankings) and among the oldest in England.
As London’s most central university, King’s recently placed 23rd in the world and fifth in the United Kingdom in the 2018 QS World University Rankings. King’s has more than 29,600 students (of whom nearly 11,000 are international students), 40,000 alumni from over 150 countries, including 12 Nobel Prize winners and some 8,000 staffers.
It has four campuses by the River Thames between Westminster and the City of London, plus one more in south London.
The college has nine faculties, schools and institutes, making King’s one of the largest multi-faculty institutions in the United Kingdom. The latest addition, King’s Business School is now one of the largest providers of undergraduate management teaching in London, as well as having a thriving postgraduate community, with over 800 students registered in Masters degrees and a growing number of research students.
King’s has a particularly distinguished reputation in humanities, law, the sciences (including a wide range of health areas such as psychiatry, medicine, dentistry, psychology and forensic science) plus social sciences, including management, economics, war studies and international relations.
It played a major role in advances that shaped modern life, such as the discovery of the structure of DNA and research that led to the development of radio, television, mobile phones and radar.
It is the largest centre for the education of healthcare professionals in Europe.
King’s Strategic Vision looks forward to its 200th anniversary in 2029.
It shows how King’s will make the world a better place by focusing on five key strategic priorities – educate to inspire and improve, research to inform and innovate, serve to shape and transform, a civic university at the heart of London, and an international community that serves the world.
With over 1,540 Malaysian alumni and 290 current Malaysian students across the university’s five campuses, it is one of the world’s leading universities, balancing an outstanding reputation for world-class research and teaching.
For almost 200 years King’s research has been – and continues to be – world leading in producing graduates who are some of the most employable around the globe.
