Educating the engineers of tomorrow

-

STUDENTS often find themselves lost and indecisive on the course to pursue after their SPM examinations.

The transitioning from secondary school to university can be daunting, but with the right choice of programme, students can seamlessly transition into the tertiary programme.

It is important to choose a field of study that interest them and an institution that provides a wholesome and all-encompassing learning experience.

One of the areas that provides a good platform and marketable field is engineering and technology.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) has educated and prepared students for several courses offered in engineering technology areas.

UniKL MSI campus located at Kulim Hi-Tech Park specialises in Mechanical, manufacturing, electrical and electronics programmes.

High-quality programmes

Started in year 2002, UniKL MSI collaborates with the Spanish government to transfer technology in engineering and industrial areas, offering comprehensive and high-quality diploma and bachelor’s degree programmes.

The Diploma of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Design and Development programme is offered to individuals with knowledge and capabilities in design for manufacturing mechanical products, fixtures and general parts, with an ample knowledge of material and manufacturing.

The Diploma of Engineering Technology in Automated Regulation and Control prepares graduates with the knowledge and capabilities in current distribution installations, control programmes of electro technical automation equipment, control and regulation system of machines or industrial processes.

The Diploma of Engineering Technology in Electromechanical Installation and Maintenance programme prepares graduates with the technical skills for rewarding careers in their chosen discipline, and this includes the application, installation, manufacturing operation and/or maintenance of electronic systems.

It also involves instructing students in the latest electrical and electronic technology, computer application software, laboratory equipment, and the operation of electronic systems.

Critical thinking skills

The programme also exposes them to critical thinking skills, analysis and technical problem-solving as well as using information acquisition tools.

With three diploma engineering technology programmes, UniKL MSI provides graduates with opportunities to become high-level technologists in a wide range of industries – especially in manufacturing sectors as well as research and development sectors.

The career openings are wide and rewarding for those with the right education and talent as job opportunities for high-level technologists exist in all industrial companies that are involved in mechanical, electromechanical and automation technologies.

UniKL is one of the Malaysia’s top universities and focuses strongly in the critical areas of studies that encompass engineering, sciences, business and management.

With 12 campuses around Malaysia, UniKL is the leading technical university in Malaysia. It has produced more than 30,000 graduates with excellent technical and leadership skills.

UniKL gives priority to high-quality education and the importance of learning experiences towards producing quality holistic graduates.

Beside incorporating international and multicultural exposures in students’ learning experiences, extensive industrial training components and personal enrichment competency elements are also blended into the programmes of study to ensure the graduates’ employability.

Graduates from UniKL remain the popular choice among employers and industries.
