Success for Perdana varsity

-

THE Perdana University Graduate School of Medicine (PUGSOM), established in 2011, is the first medical school in Malaysia to offer graduate entry medicine.

International needs

The Doctor of Medicine programme at PUGSOM was developed to meet both Malaysian and international needs and expectations.

Its major objectives are to educate graduate medical students in accordance with the highest professional standards, to prepare clinicians to practise patient-centred medicine of the highest standards and to identify and answer fundamental questions on the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of diseases in healthcare delivery and the basic sciences.

Fully accredited

This first US-centric graduate curriculum in Malaysia was originally developed with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to produce future leaders in medicine who would take the foundation of a broad education in medicine to improve health through patient care, research and education. This programme is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

Experienced team

Under the supervision of an experienced team, the faculty ensures that knowledge of the highest standard is imparted including developing the curriculum, assessments, standards and policies. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty members also assume responsibility for professional development, service to the university and research.

PUGSOM is looking forward to expanding the scope of academic activities in the form of kick-starting innovative, high-quality academic programmes, which are structured to suit both local and international students. In the pipeline are innovative programmes like specialised training courses in the United States Medical Licensing Examination for international medical graduates.

PUGSOM is now open for the November intake.
