Lexus renews NX and RX offerings

-

LEXUS Malaysia has replaced the NX 200t with the facelifted NX 300 range and has expanded the RX full-size SUV line-up with the RX 350 L seven-seater.

The NX 300 is available in four variants and are priced with GST without insurance from RM311,900 for the entry-level NX 300 Urban, RM329,800 for the NX 300 Premium, RM387,900 for the NX 300 F Sport and RM397,800 for the range-topping NX 300h.

While a five-year unlimited mileage factory warranty accompanies all Lexus vehicles, the NX 300h comes with an eight-year battery assurance programme for the hybrid battery pack.

There are seven colour choices of Amber Crystal Shine (not available for F Sport), Red Mica Crystal Shine, Sparkling Meteor Metallic, Sonic Quartz, Platinum Silver Metallic, Sonic Titanium, Graphite Black Glass Flake, Heat Blue Contrast Layering (for F Sport only) and Lava Orange Crystal Shine (for F Sport only).

No changes have been made in terms of specifications and performance from the outgoing model, but it does have a new grille, front and rear bumper, LC 500-inspired tri-beam LED headlights, 18-inch wheels and baffle-type exhaust tips, suspension tuning and shock absorbers for improved comfort.

Under the hood, it’s the same 235hp/350Nm 2.0-litre (1,998cc) turbocharged engine managed by an unchanged six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Super Electronic Control Transmission and AI-Shift for the all-wheel drive system that allows it to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 7.1 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 200kph.

As for the Lexus 350 L that’s similarly priced at RM475,000, it slots itself between the range-topping RX 450h and the RX 350 F Sport while having an extended rear overhang to help fit a third row 50:50 split power-folding rear seats to make it a seven-seater.

The RX 350 L is being offered in seven colours of Platinum Silver Metallic, Red MC. CS., Sonic Titanium, Graphite Black GF, Deep Blue MC, Amber CS and Sonic Quartz.

Like the F Sport variant, a 3.5litre (3,456cc) V6 engine sends 289hp/358Nm to the all-wheel drive system with dynamic torque control and 20-inch aluminium wheels wearing 235/55 series tyres via an eight-speed automatic trans- mission.

It also comes fitted with automatic Triple-L shaped LED headlights with auto-levelling, LED front fogs with cornering function, moonroof, hands-free powered tailgate and keyless entry with pushstart button.

Inside, the cabin gets the Leather and Luxury trim accents, power-adjustable leather-wood steering wheel, tri-zone climate controls, electric parking brake, navigation system, wireless charger, semi-aniline leather upholstery, 40:20:40 split folding second row seats with walk-in function, rear-side manual sunshades and a 12-speaker Lexus Premium Audio system with 12.3inch Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) display with remote touch controller and reverse camera with panoramic view monitor.

Safety kit includes 10 airbags, anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, hill-start assist, brake hold function, tyre-pressure warning system with auto location, blind spot monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert. — JAY WONG
