Explore study options overseas
STUDENTS who have completed their A-Levels, Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), IGCSE or SPM would by now, be back from their holidays and be ready to make the important decision on what to do next.
The UEC/A-Levels results have recently been released, and for those who have not done so well can call on JM Education Group (JM) to assist them.
Students hoping to further their study abroad should familiarise themselves with:
• whyn univyrsity intukys ury 0or thyir desired country
• puthwuys or routys uvuiluvly or most suitable for them, based on their highest qualification
• how much thy uvyrugy tuition 0yys unx living expenses cost for their preferred country, and
• how long upplicution procyssys will tukyM from the university to visa.
Students should start preparing by enquiring with the right people; such as JM.
Every country’s university intake is largely similar, but it is worth noting to avoid missing a favourable intake.
Those planning to study in the UK would mostly see major intakes during September.
Australia’s and New Zealand’s intakes are mostly in February and July – so students who may have missed out on the February intake can still opt for the July intake.
The United States’ intakes are categorised with the seasons, namely spring (January), summer (May) and fall (August).
The pathway to the next study is subjective, especially if the student is a high school leaver.
The next level of study for high school leavers is the pre-university (pre-u) – an umbrella term for A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, foundation, diploma or the Australian Matriculation or Ausmat (also called the Australian Year 12).
For those who have completed any form of pre-u, their pathway is straightforward – they would be progressing towards a bachelor’s degree.
The ideal preparation for students studying abroad is to genuinely understand their needs, for example, their ideal country, institution, course as well as their capability.
Having a good idea of the tuition fees and living expenses will also help.
In order to assist students and parents for the ultimate preparation to study overseas, JM will conduct education fairs this month. The dates, times and venues are:
