Wee Kean Wai, 30

Sales executive Wee is one step closer to realising his dream as a politician, now that he is contesting the Pulau Tikus state seat in Penang.

Wee hails from Ipoh, Perak, and is from the Malaysian United Party (MUP). He wants a better health system, and strives to be a voice for environmen­tal concerns in Penang.

Goh Saik Wei, 30

Standing for election is a learning curve for businessma­n Goh, who is fielded by the Malaysian United Party for the Padang Kota state seat.

The first-timer said he still has a lot to learn, and that facing twoterm assemblyma­n Chow Kon Yeow, 60, the incumbent, will not be easy but he will still try his best.

As a Penangite, he aims to strive for a better Penang, working towards preserving the state’s heritage and rich culture.

Lim Jhun Hou, 23

Lim is Penang’s youngest candidate this general election.

The accountant is contesting the Machang Bubuk state seat.

He is facing a five-cornered fight against PKR’s incumbent Lee Khai Loon, Tang Ah Ba of Parti Rakyat Malaysia, Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Tan Teik Cheng and PAS’s Md Jamil Abd Rahman.

Lim said he wants to build a better community in Machang Bubuk if he is elected. “I started going to the ground to meet the people some two months ago. I promreally ise to work hard as this is not going to be easy,” said Lim, whose hometown is Kubang Semang.
