WITH Ramadan around the corner, Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur City Centre’s executive chef Al Fitri Al Bakri and his culinary team will be serving up a delectable Ramadan halal buffet spread of over 100 dishes showcasing the best of authentic local flavours.

To start, diners can indulge in a delicious variety of kerabu – kerabu isi ketam, kerabu betik, kerabu udang, kerabu daging tomato and kerabu ayam pegaga, to name a few.

Istana’s signatures dishes such as braised fish head in local-style thick curry with tomato, butter prawns beef korma and chicken kung po are also not to be missed.

Guests can look forward to the chefs’ live action stations featuring local favourites such as char kuey teow, lemang and condiments, sizzling Portuguese-style grilled delights, as well as the Carvery Station (whole roast Balinese marinated lamb served with a selection of vegetables with mustard, black pepper, mushroom and rosemary sauce) and more.

The chefs have also added other special dishes such as nasi dalcha tulang rusuk, Pakistani briyani, Kelantanes­e traditiona­l rice with fresh long beans and roast beef and Vietnamese spring rolls.

Diners can choose from a selection of Indian, Western, Chinese and fusion cuisine.

Hotel Istana is also presenting an array of durian-themed delights such as glutinous rice with serawa durian, dodol durian, durian strudel, cendol durian, air batu campur with durian and durian crepes.

Afterwards, try the assortment of sweet Malay kuih such as keria, onde-onde, cucur badak, bingka ubi, tepung talam, kuih lapis and putu piring. For Western desserts, try the bread and butter pudding, apple/ blueberry crumble, tiramisu and chocolate brownies.

Group and private buka puasa gatherings can be arranged in the hotel’s function rooms. There will also be a designated prayer room, prayer mats and sandals during Ramadan.

The Selera Ramadan buffet at Taman Sari Brasserie in Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur is priced at RM155 nett per adult and RM78 nett per child (four to 11 years).

Grab the Early Bird Special or advanced purchase voucher (from now until May 15), both at RM117 nett per adult. There will be a 15% discount for selected credit cards from May 17 until June 14. Terms and conditions apply.

The Raya Buffet High Tea will be available on June 15 and 16 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at only RM115 nett per adult. Prior reservatio­ns are recommende­d.
