Mentoring creative talent

-

“DASEIN” is a connotation derived from German philosophy and has inspired philosophers, artists, writers, and creative thinkers alike to discover and redefine one’s true being and existence.

German-born American social psychologist, psychoanalyst, sociologist, humanistic philosopher and democratic socialist Erich Seligmann Fromm said: “People are born equal, but they are also born different”.

This idea has become the Dasein Academy of Art’s academic hallmark – where the craft of imagination is about training creative minds of individual talents, for great artists bear the timeless imprint of identity in his or her masterpiece.

Driven by this ingenuity, Dasein believes that the education for art, design and media studies is more than just a mere skill or job market-oriented curriculum.

It is through the path of creative thinking and aesthetic learning that one discovers the beauty of one’s existence, and that, is a fulfilment of a lifetime.

With that ideal in mind, Dasein Academy of Art was established in 1996 by a team of avid educators and professionals from the art, design and media industry aspiring to revive the role of a future generation dedicated to the creative and cultural development for personal enrichment.

It has unique versatility in the way it educates that differs from any other colleges.

Over the years of advocating individual distinction, Dasein Academy of Art has developed a unique set of teaching principles called edu-mentoring.

Personalised approach

Dasein Academy of Art incorporated two key ingredients into its syllabus for developing young minds: teaching plus mentoring to provide a personalised approach for every teaching-learning relationship.

It is through the guidance in self-discovery that the importance of self-value is unearthed.

Contrary to most mass-teaching institutions, Dasein Academy insists on small scale classes by limiting to 15-25 students per class. As part of the methodology in edu-mentoring, such classes enable personalised guidance for students to uncover niche virtues with better attention and results.

Accomplished professionals

Over the years, Dasein graduates have consistently achieved high employment rate at 98% after three months of graduation. This proves that the efforts of Dasein in cultivating accomplished and sustainable professionals are recognised by the creative industry.

To inspire students and connect with the creative industry, Dasein strives to foster knowledge sharing and creative enlightenment.

Artists and scholars from around the world are often invited to host academic forums and talks, providing a platform for students and speakers to uncover inspiring insights that fuel the creative process.

Skilled designers

Dasein believes in the fundamentals of good creative education and aims to provide the right kind of learning environment and tools that not only produce skilled designers, but also those who can think, innovate and create.
